Governance advisory firm y’s partners opened on Friday to offer consulting services tailored for firms run by families.

The advisory firm is dedicated to providing solutions optimized for the Korean corporate environment and designing governance models.

“Family businesses in Korea comprise a high percentage of publicly listed companies,” y’s partners said on Friday, adding that such firms’ performances and reputations are “directly affected” by management and boards.

“y’s partners address this distinctive context by offering a comprehensive range of actionable services.”

The advisory firm says it helps to make governance systems for family offices, manage shareholder activism and governance risks and aids in forming media strategies.

“[We] aim to detect risks at an early stage,” the firm said.

The advisory firm has professionals with over 25 years of experience in governance and strategic communications, the company said.

“We aim to help families pursue ‘purpose-driven wealth’ that goes beyond legal compliance to harmonize with the spirit of the times, particularly within Korea’s unique corporate environment," y's partners' Yvonne Park said in a press release Friday.
