The Korea Exchange (KRX) stated on Friday that it hosted a bell-ringing ceremony for the 12th annual Ring the Bell for Gender Equality campaign in celebration of International Women's Day this month.
The event, jointly organized by the International Finance Corporation, United Nations Global Compact and UN Women, took place at the bourse operator's building in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District, western Seoul, according to the KRX.
Launched in 2015, the campaign aims to encourage exchanges and companies to implement practices that improve women's access to finance, participation in leadership and economic opportunity.
A total of 115 exchanges around the world took part in this year's campaign under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” the KRX said.
