Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will make a state visit to Korea from March 31 to April 2 for summit talks with President Lee Jae Myung to discuss bilateral ties, the Blue House said on Friday.

Prabowo is scheduled to hold summit talks with Lee on April 1 in what will mark their second meeting since early November 2025, when the two leaders met on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Korea.

“The two leaders plan to discuss ways to strengthen practical cooperation in areas including trade, investment, the defense industry and security, as well as AI, infrastructure, shipbuilding, nuclear energy, energy transition and the cultural sector,” presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung announced in a written briefing.

They are also expected to hold in-depth discussions on ways to promote Korea's relations with Asean countries, as well as on the security situation and other global issues, including the Korean Peninsula and the Middle East, the spokesperson added.

Indonesia, a key Asean member with the world's fourth-largest population and abundant natural resources, is also an important defense industry partner for Korea.

Bilateral defense cooperation centers on the joint development of Korea's KF-21 fighter jet, launched in 2015 and now in the final stage of development.
