Woori Bank's prepaid cards for foreigners [WOORI BANK]
Woori Bank said on Friday that it will launch a prepaid card targeting foreign customers in partnership with Nol Universe, a leisure and travel platform, and Kona I, a fintech payment platform operator.
The service, set to launch in April, targets foreign tourists and aims to make their purchases more convenient during their stay in Korea. The partners plan to collaborate on integrating systems and building the necessary infrastructure for the service.
Woori Bank said that users of the service will be able to receive prepaid cards at Incheon International Airport, allowing them to convert foreign currency into won upon arrival. The cards can be used to pay for public transportation, tickets to cultural performances and more.
“We have prepared a differentiated ‘tourist finance’ service that foreign tourists can use anytime and anywhere as demand for financial services among foreign visitors continues to rise,” said Kim Ko-woon, the deputy general manager at Woori Bank’s international trade business department.
Kim added that Woori Bank will expand its financial services targeting global customers.
