A passenger train crosses the Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge over the Yalu River between North Korea and China on March 12, the first day of passenger rail service between the two countries in six years.
China Railway said that trains between Beijing and Pyongyang will operate four times a week in a notice on Tuesday night. The company also said trains between the Chinese border city of Dandong and the North Korean capital will run daily.
The train services are "a moving link that strengthens the friendship between China and North Korea," China Railway said.
