Tving original drama “Yumi’s Cells” (2021-) will return for a third season on April 13, the streaming platform said Wednesday.
 
Starring actor Kim Go-eun in the titular role of Yumi, the drama gained popularity for combining live action with 3-D animation, a first for a Korean drama.

Season three will continue to follow Yumi, a woman in her 30s who is now a successful author, as she meets another romantic interest during her journey of self-discovery and professional life.
 
“Yumi’s Cells” is based on a webtoon of the same name. The webtoon accumulated 3.5 billion views when it was released between 2015 and 2020 on Naver Webtoon.

Director Lee Sang-yeob, who directed the first two seasons of “Yumi’s Cells,” returns for season three. Actors Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Jin-young played opposite Kim in seasons one and two, respectively. Actor Kim Jae-won will play Sunrok, the main romantic interest in season three.
 
Season three of “Yumi’s Cells” will premier on Tving on April 13, with two episodes to be released every Monday at 6 p.m. It will also air on tvN on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:50 p.m., one episode at a time.
