Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf announced Monday it will return to Korea this spring with a tournament in Busan.
LIV Golf, a renegade tour bankrolled by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, said the tournament at Asiad Country Club will take place from May 28 to 31.
The course previously hosted the BMW Ladies Championship on the LPGA Tour in 2019 and 2021, and the golf tournament during the 2002 Asian Games.
LIV Golf, whose first Korean tournament was held in the western city of Incheon last May, said it has reached a multiyear agreement with the Busan venue.
"Bringing LIV Golf back to Korea, and to Busan for the first time, is an important next step for the league and for our fans here," LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil said in a statement. "The appetite for LIV Golf continues to grow, and Asiad Country Club and the city of Busan give us a venue that meets our ambitions for the event, both competitively and culturally, in Korea. We're excited to build on the momentum from our debut last season and deliver another memorable week for Korean fans."
LIV Golf has been making concerted efforts in recent months to better appeal to the Korean market. In January, Iron Heads Golf Club, a team featuring Korean-born players, was renamed Korean Golf Club. It also adopted a new logo and roundel that leans into the Korean culture. Former PGA Tour veteran An Byeong-hun headlines a trio of new Korean players for the team.

"Playing LIV Golf in Korea means a great deal to all of us. Competing at home, in front of Korean fans, brings a different level of pride," An said. "As a team, we're excited to represent Korean golf on this stage and around the world, and we're excited to show the energy, passion and competitiveness that define the way Korean Golf Club plays the game."
Bryson DeChambeau won LIV Golf's Korean tournament last year, and he will return this year to defend his title in Busan. Other big names include former PGA Tour hotshot and Ryder Cup star Anthony Kim, who recently emerged from a long hiatus and earned his first professional win in almost 16 years.
LIV Golf said the Busan tournament will also feature live music and other off-course entertainment, with details on the concert and programs to be announced later.
Last year in Incheon, K-pop stars G-Dragon and IVE were on the bill.
