Blackpink’s latest EP “Deadline” sold 1.46 million copies on its first day, setting a record for the highest first-day sales by a K-pop girl group.
 
“Blackpink’s third EP 'Deadline' sold 1,461,785 copies in a single day, according to data from Hanteo Chart,” YG Entertainment, the group’s agency, said. “The figure not only sets a record for the group but also marks the highest first-day sales for a K-pop girl group in history.”

Before “Deadline,” Blackpink’s best first-day record was “Born Pink” (2022), which sold 1.01 million copies.  
 
YG added that the new album also topped the iTunes album charts in 32 regions. The lead track “GO” also ranked high on major domestic streaming platforms.
 
“Deadline” marks the girl group’s first release in three years and five months. 
 
Blackpink debuted in 2016 with the single “Square One.” The group, comprising members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa, is known for songs such as “Whistle” (2016), “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” (2018), “How You Like That” (2020), “Pink Venom” (2022) and “Shut Down” (2022).
