Unification minister seeks ex-British Prime Minister Cameron's support for peace on Korean Peninsula

Unification Minister Chung Dong-young has held a meeting with former British Prime Minister David Cameron and requested his support for building peace on the Korean Peninsula, officials said Wednesday.
During the meeting with Cameron the previous day at the government complex in Seoul, Chung discussed the security situation on the peninsula and Seoul's policy of seeking peaceful coexistence with North Korea, Unification Ministry officials said.
Cameron was accompanied by former U.S. Senators Saxby Chambliss and Richard Burr.
Referring to Cameron's international influence, the South Korean minister requested his attention to and support for efforts to build peace on the peninsula.
The ministry said the participants voiced concerns over growing uncertainties stemming from the prolonged Russia-Ukraine war and shared the view that an upcoming summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping could serve as an opportunity to advance inter-Korean ties.
