Kiwoom Securities has entered into a strategic partnership with U.S.-based brokerage Webull Technologies to enhance cross-border access to Korean and U.S. equities for investors in both countries.

Through the partnership, Kiwoom plans to support Webull in activating its foreign omnibus account system, which would enable overseas investors to trade Korean stocks in real time on the Webull platform without the need for opening a separate account with a domestic securities firm, said Kiwoom in a statement on Friday.

Measures to strengthen Kiwoom customers’ access to the U.S. capital markets by leveraging Webull’s technology and product offerings are also expected to be discussed as part of the partnership.

“Starting with the establishment of our U.S. subsidiary, we have been continuously expanding our points of contact with U.S. investors,” said Lee Yoon-gu, the CEO of Kiwoom Securities USA, in a statement, adding that Kiwoom will further strengthen strategic partnerships to attract global capital into the Korean stock market and vitalize the capital market.

Webull Technologies CEO Jack Keating said that the company will broaden access to United States and Korean equities while elevating the trading experience for retail investors through joint innovation in UI and UX.
