A timeline of turmoil in Korea, from martial law to presidential election

Former President Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of martial law on Dec. 3, 2024, ended with his impeachment and replacement by current President Lee Jae Myung on June 3. 
 
The seven months in between saw countless street rallies both for and against Yoon's removal from office, eleven hearings at the Constitutional Court as it deliberated his impeachment and even a mob attack against a Seoul trial court after it approved his arrest warrant.
