According to the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, dried persimmons are primarily exported to Japan. Last year, overall production of the fruit fell 13.5 percent. While mainly eaten in their fruit form, which has four to five times more vitamin C than an apple, persimmons are also used to make alcohol.
