Kimchi gets corporate as donation event kicks off in Yeouido

At the event, which was put on by a group of financial firms headquartered around the park, employees and executives came together to make 70,000 kilograms (154,000 pounds) of kimchi with a value of 320 million won ($231,000) to be donated to 160 social welfare organizations.

This year's edition, the 14th, was bigger than last years, with corporate participation up 20 percent. The event also saw a 30 percent increase in volunteers and a 40 percent increase in donations.
