Kyiv has released a video targeting North Korean soldiers deployed to Russia to fight in its war against Ukraine, urging them to surrender rather than die on foreign soil.
On Wednesday, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence posted a video, narrated in Korean, titled "A Message to Soldiers of the Korean People's Army," written in both Korean and Ukrainian, on its YouTube and Telegram channels.
The YouTube channel, called "I Want to Live" in Ukrainian, usually posts messages encouraging Russian troops to surrender. This is the first time a propaganda video aimed at North Korean troops has been uploaded to the channel.
The video shows clean prisoner-of-war camps and highlights the living conditions North Korean soldiers could experience if they surrender. The unnamed narrator explains that those who surrender will receive three meals a day, including meat, fresh vegetables and bread.
The video shows dishes with a portion of meat on each plate.

It concludes with the phrase "Saving myself, life" in Korean, along with a hotline number and a QR code enabling direct communication with the Ukrainian government.
In the video description, the Ukrainian military states that North Korean soldiers sent to support the Putin regime do not need to die meaninglessly on foreign soil.
According to South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) on Wednesday, North Korea has sent approximately 3,000 troops to Russia. The spy agency expects the total number of soldiers deployed by North Korea to reach 10,000 by the end of the year, with the elite 11th Corps and Storm Corps leading the effort.
This NIS also said two training sessions were held in North Korea in September and October and that troops already in Russia are currently being undergoing training in the country's Far East region to acclimatize.
