Police officer injured after SUV crashes into guard post near Russian ambassador's residence

A damaged police guard post in front of the Russian ambassador's residence in Jongno District, central Seoul, after a sports utility vehicle crashed into the post on Sunday night. [NEWS1]
According to fire and rescue authorities on Monday, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) smashed into the guardpost before the residence in Jongno District, central Seoul, around 10:10 p.m. on Sunday.
The police officer was hospitalized after suffering severe neck and shoulder injuries.
The driver was reportedly sober at the time of the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.
