Korean team takes bronze in men's rifle contest

Korea took another shooting bronze on Thursday, placing third in the men’s 50 meter three positions rifle team contest at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
 
The three-man team of Kim Sang-do, Kim Jong-hyun and Mo Dai-seong together scored 1,748 points, coming behind Japan, with 1,769 points and China, with 1,763.

Kim Jong-hyun and Kim Sang-do both qualified for the men’s individual final but failed to medal, taking sixth and seventh place, respectively.
 
In the 50 meter rifle three positions event, each shooter unsurprisingly takes aim from a 50-meter distance in three different positions: kneeling, standing and “prone” — on the belly.
 
Korea had won over a dozen medals in shooting at this year’s Asiad by the end of day’s competitions on Friday. Kim Sang-do earlier won Korea a silver medal in the men’s 10 meter air rifle team contest.
 
The Korean women’s 50 meter three positions rifle team had earlier nabbed bronze on Wednesday. The rifle team of Lee Eun-seo, Bae Sang-hee and Lee Kye-rim together scored 1,756 points, coming behind champion China and India.
 
The shooting schedule at the Asian Games wraps up on Sunday.
