Seoul Metro launches lost-and-found home delivery service for subway passengers

Seoul Metro launched a new lost-and-found home delivery service on Monday, allowing customers to have lost items stored at its lost-and-found centers delivered.

With the new service, customers can receive their lost belongings at a location of their choice, including their home or workplace. Seoul Metro has also operated a locker pickup service for lost items since June last year.

To use the service, customers must first identify which lost-and-found center is holding their item and contact the center to verify their identity. They will then receive an application link, where they can enter their delivery address and pay the shipping fee to complete the request.

Delivery fees vary by the item's weight: 5,000 won ($3.60) for packages weighing under 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds), 6,000 won for packages weighing 2 kilograms to under 10 kilograms, and 7,000 won for packages weighing 10 kilograms to under 20 kilograms. Additional fees may be incurred depending on the delivery destination and package size.

Food items and cash are excluded from the delivery service. Any personal information collected to provide the service will be deleted immediately after delivery is completed.

Lost-and-found services are handled at four centers: the City Hall Center for Lines 1 and 2, the Chungmuro Center for Lines 3 and 4, the Wangsimni Center for Lines 5 and 8, and the Taereung Center for Lines 6 and 7. The centers are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
