The Embassy of Ukraine and the Delegation of the European Union in Korea co-hosted a special piano recital at the Goethe-Institut in central Seoul on Monday evening to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

During the opening remarks, Ukrainian Chargé d’Affaires Andrii Vieshkin expressed "sincere gratitude" to the Korean government and public for their support and assistance amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

The evening featured a performance by pianist Dr. Taras Filenko, who wove historical context into his repertoire to emphasize that the conflict is not merely a fight for territory, but a struggle to preserve Ukraine's national and cultural identity.
