Korea and Singapore kicked off a second round of negotiations to upgrade their bilateral FTA, Seoul's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources said Tuesday.

The two countries launched the two-day talks in Seoul, discussing ways to bolster bilateral trade ties with a focus on the supply chain, green economy, and aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul sectors, according to the Trade Ministry.

"With Singapore standing as the second-largest investment and trade partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, we will make efforts to upgrade trade terms through improved negotiations, producing results that benefit Korean firms' entry into the Southeast Asian nation," the Trade Ministry said.

Korea and Singapore implemented the bilateral FTA in 2006.

The two countries held the first round of negotiations in Singapore in April.
