Korea and Morocco agreed to closely cooperate for the early launch of negotiations for a bilateral comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA), Seoul's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources said on Wednesday.

Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo and Omar Hejira, Morocco's secretary of state to the minister of industry and trade, held a virtual meeting to explore ways to expand economic cooperation and launch negotiations for CEPA, according to the Trade Ministry.

The two sides agreed to launch their CEPA negotiations soon, as the pact will serve as a catalyst for bilateral economic cooperation.

Yeo said the Korea-Morocco CEPA will help Korean companies expand their business diversification and trading realm.
