The death toll from twin quakes, measured at magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, has risen to at least 188, with more than 1,520 others injured, top lawmaker Jorge Rodriguez reported, while residents continue searching for missing relatives.

JYP Entertainment donated 300 million won ($195,000) to World Vision, an international relief and development group, to fund the emergency aid for victims of the deadly earthquake that struck Venezuela this week.

A 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean coast near Venezuela's capital Caracas on Wednesday, destroying buildings and leaving hundreds dead or injured. A 7.5-magnitude earthquake is considered a major earthquake that can cause serious damage.

The donation will be used to support food, daily necessities, clean water, sanitation and psychological care for affected children and residents.

"We hope to provide support for the children and residents who lost their homes to this unexpected disaster," the agency said in a press release on Friday.

"We sincerely hope the affected areas regain stability as soon as possible and that everyone safely returns to their daily lives."

JYP Entertainment, home to artists Twice, Stray Kids, ITZY, NMIXX and DAY6, has donated a total of 10.01 billion won since 2020.
