A factory owner has been referred to prosecutors on suspicion of repeatedly assaulting foreign employees for more than three years in Incheon, said police and labor authorities Tuesday.

The suspect sparked public outrage after a video of him assaulting a young migrant worker at his textile factory in Incheon circulated in April.

The factory owner is accused of beating four Bangladeshi workers on seven occasions between March 2023 and April this year, and has been sent to the prosecution for alleged violations of the Labor Standards Act and for property damage, according to the Incheon Seobu Police Station and the local branch of the Jungbu Regional Office of Employment and Labor.
