Army conducts live-fire drills involving AI-based combat engineering vehicles

The Army on Thursday staged live-fire drills involving combat engineering vehicles equipped with AI and topped with remote control systems as it seeks to strengthen the military's capabilities to respond to future warfare.
The Army's 11th Maneuver Division took part in the drills in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi, showcasing the Korea Combat Engineer Vehicle (K-CEV), according to the armed services.
The K-CEV refers to K21 armored vehicles fitted with AI-based remote controller systems designed to enhance the survivability of troops.
During the drills, surveillance drones were mobilized to detect and remove the opponent's obstacles, and K4 and K6 machine guns equipped on vehicles immediately fired at the target.
