Japanese girl group NiziU will release its first Korean EP “Sour Grapes” on Sept. 28, its agency JYP Entertainment said on Monday.

“Sour Grapes” will be NiziU’s first Korean release in more than a year following “Love Line” in March 2025. The band dropped its first single for the Korean market, “Press Play,” in October 2023.

A teaser video for the upcoming album was uploaded to the group’s social media accounts on Monday. The video depicts the nine members eating grapes.

NiziU was formed through the audition program “Nizi Project” (2020), which aimed to produce a girl group mainly for the Japanese market but backed by K-pop training and production systems. It released the predebut digital EP “Make You Happy” in June 2020 before officially debuting with “Step and a step” (2020) that December.

The band  held its “NiziU Live with U 2026 ‘NEW EvoNUtion’” tour across five cities in Japan in February and March, followed by the “NiziU: The Cinema” dome tour at the Kyocera Dome Osaka and Tokyo Dome in June. It most recently released its compilation album “Portfolio” in July.
