Joshua of boy band Seventeen will stand on a podium at the Unesco headquarters in Paris later this month to deliver an encouraging message to youth, his agency Pledis Entertainment said on Tuesday.

Seventeen was previously appointed as the Unesco Goodwill Ambassador for Youth in June 2024. Joshua will represent the group at the “Unesco x Seventeen: Celebrating Youth, Creativity and Well-Being Together” event, which will kick off at 10 a.m. on June 25 and be livestreamed via Unesco’s official YouTube channel.

The event will mark the start of the scale-up phase of Unesco and Seventeen’s joint global youth initiative titled “Going Together - For Youth Creativity & Well-Being.” The project has benefited 100 youth-led projects in 64 countries.

Unesco Director-General Khaled El-Enany will also attend the event.

After being appointed as the international organization’s first Goodwill Ambassador for Youth, the boy band donated $1 million in support of a global youth grant that supports young adults’ mental health and their aspirations in arts and sports.

Seventeen debuted in 2015 with the EP “17 Carat.” The band is a 13-member multinational group best known for songs such as “Adore U” (2015), “Don’t Wanna Cry” (2017) and “Ready to Love” (2021).
