BB Girls to release single 'Body Wave' on July 16

Girl group BB Girls is set to release a new single, “Body Wave,” on July 16, its agency GLG said Thursday.

The release will be the group’s first in more than a year, since it put out the single “Wish List,” a remake of singer Byun Jin-sub’s 1989 song of the same name.

Targeting the hot summer season, the new song features a refreshing sound that captures BB Girls' signature vibrant energy, according to the agency.

"Body Wave" will also be available as a photocard-style album featuring a set of the members' photocards, which fans can scan to listen to the single.

Preorders for the physical album will open at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

BB Girls first debuted as Brave Girls in 2011 but only became known to the public in 2021 after its 2017 song “Rollin’” climbed back up the charts years after the song's initial release.

Three members of the original quartet — Eunji, Minyoung and Yuna — began a new chapter with a new name, BB Girls, in 2023.

The group recently held its first fan meet and greet, “Missing File 0803,” on June 8.
