Hongjoong of the boy band Ateez will perform at the Korean edition of Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), one of the world’s largest EDM festivals, under his DJ name NO1 in October, marking his first solo festival performance and first-ever DJ set.
Hongjoong will join a lineup that includes Tiësto, DJ Snake and Illenium. His DJ debut could also serve as a gateway for more K-pop fans to enter Korea’s flourishing EDM scene, said Luffy Huang, CEO and founder of One Pulse Group, the organizer of EDC Korea.
“Hongjoong, member of Ateez, is one of the K-pop artists who will be the DJ,” Huang said during a press conference for the EDC Korea lineup announcement held in Jongno District, central Seoul, on Monday. “That’s why I believe more and more K-pop fans that will join to [become] EDM fans.”
“I’m excited to be part of EDC Korea,” Hongjoong said in a recorded message played during the event.

“Looking forward to an unforgettable weekend together as my first solo festival performance and my first set ever,” he continued. "I have prepared breaking and iconic things for you, so please look forward to it — and see you all under the electric sky.”
EDC, organized by Insomniac and now in its 30th year, is one of the world’s most prominent EDM festivals. The festival takes place annually in Las Vegas and has local editions in Orlando, Colombia, Mexico and Thailand. EDC Korea 2026 will take place on Oct. 3 and 4 at Inspire Arena in Incheon.
Joining the distinguished list of global names are local artists including Youna, Muzie and Sungyoo.
The Korean edition of EDC first took place in 2019 but was discontinued afterward before returning last year through One Pulse Group.
The Las Vegas-based event promoter partnered with Insomniac last year to bring the festival back to Korea. EDC Korea 2025 was held on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at the same venue, attracting more than 50,000 attendees in total.
This year’s edition will feature a newly added premium VIP experience, including access to a fast-track entrance, VIP spaces and the Kinetic Field dance floor.
“Korea felt like home,” Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella said in a recorded message to Korean fans. “We really wanted to do EDC there again, because although I felt like home, there isn't any EDC style event there — there's nothing like it. So we wanted to bring that to our people.”

More K-pop artists will also be invited to the upcoming event, Huang added.
“We are planning to invite some K-pop artists to be the special guests in our EDC Korea,” said Huang. “We will have more special moments this year.”
The goal is to make Korea EDC’s Asian hub, the One Pulse Group CEO said.
“Our long-term goal is to establish to an important part of EDC presented in Asia with Korean fans, music industry and culture at the center,” he said. “Beyond the festival weekend we also want to stay connect with fans and grow EDC Korea into a lasting community within Asia live entertainment landscape.”
