The Korean won strengthened to hit the highest level in more than two years against the dollar on Tuesday, aided by corporate dollar sales.

For a third straight session, the won marked the strongest level since Oct. 2, 2024.

The won advanced as local exporters continued to sell dollars, despite a broad strengthening of the U.S. currency.

Foreign investors sold a net 535.4 billion won worth of local shares during the latest regular stock trading session, with the benchmark Kospi falling 3.73 percent to close at 5,552.74.
