HD KSOE wins $362M order for 3 ammonia carriers from European client

The shipbuilder, aiming for delivery in 2030 with this contract, has now secured over 70 percent of its annual order target.

A very large ammonia carrier built by HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) said Monday it has won a 545.6 billion won ($362.3 million) order from a European client to build three very large ammonia carriers.

The shipbuilding subholding company of HD Hyundai said its affiliate, HD Hyundai Samho, will build the ships and deliver them by the first half of 2030.

With the latest contract, HD KSOE has secured orders worth $16.39 billion for 142 vessels so far this year, achieving 70.3 percent of its annual order target.
