HD Hyundai XiteSolution has released a lineup of large electric forklifts of up to 18 tons, expanding electrification to heavy-duty sites such as shipyards and ports.

The company said Monday that it recently held a test-drive event for its next-generation electric forklifts at its plant in Eumseong, North Chungcheong, showcasing large models that have just entered mass production.

It expanded its range to large models of 10 to 18 tons this year after releasing midsize models last year. The company said it is the only domestic manufacturer of forklifts above 10 tons.

The largest 18-ton model can run up to nine hours on a single charge. With an optional 120-kilowatt fast charger, the battery can reach 80 percent in 1.5 hours.

The forklifts have obtained UL 2580, a U.S. safety standard for battery systems, and are rated IP67 or higher for water and dust resistance, allowing operation outdoors in harsh weather.

"The large next-generation electric forklifts can meet environmental regulations without a drop in productivity," a company representative said.

HD Hyundai XiteSolution is the intermediate holding company for HD Hyundai's construction equipment business, overseeing subsidiaries such as HD Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore.
