SK's Chey ordered to pay wife $50.7 million

SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won was ordered to pay 66.5 billion won ($50.7 million) to his wife Roh Soh-yeong, along with alimony of 100 million won in a divorce judgement Tuesday.

Chey admitted to an extramarital affair and having a love child in 2015 and started divorce proceedings.

Chey and Roh wed in 1988, the year Chey’s father-in-law, Roh Tae-woo, was inaugurated president of Korea. It was also before Sunkyung, the former name of SK, acquired Korea Mobile Telecom, a government-owned company, in 1994.
