The won reached another decade-plus low on Wednesday, falling to 1,395.50 won against the dollar following higher-than-expected inflation in the United States in August.

The won fell around 1.5 percent from the previous trading day after the U.S. reported 8.3 percent on-year growth in Consumer Price Index Tuesday. The Nasdaq slid 5.16 percent and the S&P 500 4.32 percent on the day of the report.

The Kospi and Kosdaq opened more than 2.5 percent down Wednesday.
